    Jetpack Interactive has been a fixture in the Vancouver game development community since 2011. Our studio DNA originated from three flagship Vancouver development studios (Black Box Games, Deep Fried Entertainment, & United Front Games). We are a console & PC game developer and have focused on building long-term relationships with AAA game studios who need engineering expertise to help bring their games to market.

    Jetpack has worked alongside Sony Interactive Entertainment (Santa Monica Studio) on several God Of War projects, including the port of GOW 2018 to PC/Steam and GOW Ragnarok. Jetpack’s work has received praise from critics and Sony Santa Monica alike and our studio continues to collaborate with Santa Monica Studio and other playStation projects.

    We are looking for a few skilled game developers to join our team and help PlayStation bring some of their most prized IPs to market. We value mutual respect, trust, and shared knowledge built on years of experience and working together.     Role:

    You will be part of a select game development team that is custom built for a long-term partnership with PlayStation. You love animation, are passionate about delivering a high quality player experience and have the technical knowledge to bring an epic game to life.

    Responsibilities:

    ● Design, implement, and maintain core animation systems and animation build pipeline

    ● Optimize game engine / build pipeline by taking full advantage of target hardware and architecture

    ● Help build a Jetpack culture of constant improvement and collaboration

    ● Work closely with Sony Santa Monica’s engineers, animators, technical animators, and character tech artists to improve animation technology in the run-time, workflows, pipelines, and tools

    ● Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code

    ● Profile and optimize to remove bottlenecks

    ● Test and document code produced

    ● Understand, communicate and prioritize the needs of our clients

    ● Identify problems; solve them: implement robust, high-quality solutions

    Requirements:

    ● B.Sc. degree in computer science or equivalent experience

    ● 7+ years of professional video game programming experience

    ● Expertise in C and C++

    ● Animation experience that includes state machines, low-level systems, compression, blending, and curves

    ● Professional experience demonstrating proficiency in algorithm design, understanding of complexity, and software architecture and design

    ● Proficient in linear algebra

    ● Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusability

    ● Ability to effectively manage relationships with external clients

    ● Enthusiasm and initiative

    ● Excellent spoken and written communication

    ● Support client tools and technology as needed for the project

    Requirements:

    ● Minimum 7 years of professional video game programming experience

    ● Expertise in C and C++

    ● Proficient in linear algebra, matrix and vector math used in games

    ● Professional experience demonstrating proficiency in algorithm design, understanding of complexity, and software architecture and design

    ● Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusability

    ● Ability to effectively manage relationships with external clients

    You are a gamer at heart. You’re comfortable delving into both script and code. You understand the importance of being able to translate from art to tech and back again, so our teams can leverage the toolsets and work together to get the iconic art from this legendary franchise into the game.

    Responsibilities:

    ● Research, define, extend, and maintain production pipelines, processes, and workflows

    ● Liaise effectively both internally and with our client; drive collaboration and add value to the project

    ● Troubleshoot issues; resolve them: invent or build robust, quality technical implementations

    ● Work closely with artists and designers to develop procedural systems and improve their workflows

    ● Participate in art asset reviews to help identify technical concerns or risks

    ● Understand, communicate and prioritize the needs of our clients

    Requirements:

    ● Minimum 7 years of professional experience in computer-generated 3D art

    ● Solid understanding of 3D math

    ● Intimate knowledge of Houdini and/or procedural asset creation

    ● High Proficiency with Maya

    ● Familiar with artist workflows and processes

    ● Good understanding of algorithm design and of their inherent complexity

    ● Proficient scripting/programming experience in Python, PyQT/PySide

    ● Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusability

    ● Ability to effectively manage relationships with external clients

    ● Enthusiasm and initiative

    ● Excellent spoken and written communication

    Preferred Experience:

    ● Industry experience working and shipping AAA titles

    ● Programming experience with C++
